چکیده مقاله |
With the increasing demand for water in industries, reusing treated wastewater has become more vital, especially with the rapid growth of populations and industrial activities. Focusing on sustainable and green processes is essential for ensuring a healthier environment and future. One such green approach is the use of ferrate, a strong oxidizing agent, which has been widely applied in various environmental treatment processes, including disinfection, coagulation, and water treatment. In this study, the effects of sodium ferrate on the treatment of steel industry wastewater were investigated. Key quality parameters such as pH, turbidity, iron ion concentration, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), and total hardness (TH) were analyzed. The results demonstrated that the addition of ferrate to the wastewater samples led to an increase in TDS, EC, and pH levels, while significantly reducing turbidity, iron ion concentration, and TH. The optimal dose of sodium ferrate was determined to be within the range of 19.5 to 35 mg/L, which was found to significantly improve the overall quality of the treated steel wastewater, making it more suitable for reuse in industrial applications. This approach highlights the potential of ferrate as an efficient solution for water treatment and reuse |
