چکیده مقاله
This study examines the quality of industrial wastewater from manufacturing cement mosaic pavement tiles. In this industry, the wastewater generated from the polishing process contains various hazardous pollutants, including heavy metals and conventional pollutants. Therefore, samples were collected and analyzed for their metal contents by ICP-MASS. We also quantified wastewater quantity and production yields of studied areas for assessing environmental pollution loads. According to the results, barium had the highest pollution load about 31.3 g/month, with a pollution load of 0.27 mg/kg production yield. Even though the concentrations of heavy metals were below the standard limits of discharging the effluent to the surface waters, the wastewater could not satisfy stricter standards required for other purposes, like fish farming. This analysis could provide valuable data for developing effective wastewater management policies and treatment processes, emphasizing the need for continuous monitoring and using treatment units for mitigating pollutants of this industrial wastewater.
